South Japan Express in Japan

South Japan Express is a six-day small-group tour through some of southern Japan’s best-known cities, gardens and sacred sites. The trip starts in Osaka and continues to Himeji, Okayama, Kurashiki, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Matsuyama, Kotohira, Takamatsu, Naruto and Kobe. It combines guided sightseeing with free time in key stops, and includes hotel stays, breakfast buffet, selected lunches and one dinner. Travel is by bus with an English-speaking guide. Basic travel insurance is included. The itinerary also includes several admissions, such as Himeji Castle, Korakuen Garden, Itsukushima Shrine, the Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima, Dogo Onsen, Ishiteji Temple, a Shinto shrine, Ritsurin Garden, Naruto Bridge and the Earthquake Memorial Museum. Schedules and visit order may change in response to traffic, weather, operational issues, public events or other exceptional circumstances.

    Osaka

    Arrival in Osaka

    Arrival in Osaka and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free, and tour information is provided later in the afternoon.

    Okayama

    Himeji and Okayama

    Depart for Himeji to visit the castle complex. After an included lunch, continue to Okayama for Korakuen Garden. There is also time to see the castle area and enjoy some free time in the city.

    Hiroshima

    Kurashiki, Hiroshima and Miyajima Island

    Travel to Kurashiki for a walk through its historic centre, then continue to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum. Later, take a ferry to Miyajima Island to visit Itsukushima Shrine before returning to Hiroshima.
