Japan Classic 10-Day Small Group Tour in Japan

This 10-day trip links Tokyo, Hakone, Takayama, Kyoto and Osaka with a mix of city walks, cultural visits and guided evenings. It is designed for small groups and includes a full route from Japan’s capital to Kansai, with rail travel between key cities. Start in Tokyo with an orientation, Shibuya Crossing, Akihabara, Harajuku and an evening visit to Senso-ji. Learn sushi making, spend time in Hakone with views of Mt Fuji when conditions allow, and travel on to Takayama for a sake tasting and a night in a traditional temple stay. The journey continues in Kyoto with Gion, Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, a tea ceremony and a Kendo class, before ending in Osaka. Meals are included on selected days, along with guided experiences and transport through the itinerary. Accommodation changes along the way, including simple shared and twin-style stays that reflect the character of each stop.

    Arrival in Tokyo and evening at Senso-ji

    Arrive in Tokyo and settle into the hostel before meeting the group for dinner. After the meal, head out to Senso-ji Temple for an evening visit once the daytime crowds have gone.

    Tokyo orientation, Harajuku and Akihabara

    Begin with a short orientation on local customs and useful phrases. Continue to Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park, then spend time in Harajuku and Akihabara, with free time for shops, arcades and wandering through the area.

    Tokyo

    Sushi class, Shinjuku and Shibuya

    Take a private sushi-making class in the morning and learn to prepare miso soup and several types of sushi. In the evening, visit Shinjuku, walk Omoide Yokocho and finish at Shibuya Crossing.
