This 10-day journey follows the Silk Road across China from Xi'an to Kashgar, with stops in Zhangye, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan and Urumqi along the way. It brings together major historical sites, desert scenery and several long overland or rail links that help show the scale of the route. In Xi'an, see the Terracotta Warriors and explore the city walls and Muslim Quarter. Continue west to Zhangye for the Rainbow Danxia, Jiayuguan Fortress and the Mogao Caves near Dunhuang, then on to Turpan, Heavenly Lake near Urumqi and the old streets and religious landmarks of Kashgar. The tour is arranged for small groups and includes local guiding, selected transport, listed entrance fees and 4-star hotel stays throughout.
