Borneo Family Wildlife Adventure
Spend nine days in Sabah on a family trip that follows Borneo’s wildlife, rivers and islands. Start in Kota Kinabalu, with time for a welcome meeting and a paddleboarding session on Tanjung Aru Beach. Continue to Poring Hot Springs for a rainforest canopy walk, then travel to the Kinabatangan River for boat trips, a night walk and time in a community-run jungle setting. The journey also includes Sandakan, the Sepilok orangutan rehabilitation centre and Turtle Island Marine Park. Along the way, you’ll see how orphaned orangutans are prepared for life in the wild, visit rescued sun bears, and watch for river wildlife from the boat. There is also free time in Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan, plus a night on Turtle Island to observe the turtle nesting process under ranger guidance. Accommodation varies from hotels and guesthouses to simpler jungle stays chosen for their location near the wildlife. This trip includes a group leader and is set up for families. The average age of children on the trip over the last year has been 11, and most children are between 10 and 14 years old.
